Hi there. This is Sam!
I hail from the Midwest of USA, from the humble state of Iowa. It's not what most people would think of as a design hub but there are creative people sprinkled all around this lovely place.
I have an obsession with making things, and I have for a long time. I like to understanding how things are made and why. I think I'm lucky in that people close to me, including my family, are artists and designers.
To me, good design is small details that each have a place. It's about creating style and mood with purpose, and speaking to someone in a new way. It's about not just making more to make more, but finding problems that we didn't even know existed and solving them.
In 2018 I graduated Magna Cum Laude (oooooh ahhhh) from the Industrial Design program at Iowa State University. I've worked at Best Made Company as a product development intern, helping to ideate and develop new products for their line. I spent three months at Fashion and Design School Accademia Italiana in Florence, Italy, which jumpstarted my interest in working with fabrics.
